CARY, N.C. — 3 Chambers will present Dancing with the Devil: A Conversation with Mark Curry on Sunday, February 22, at The Cary Theater. The event will feature an intimate fireside discussion, audience Q&A, and book signing with the former Bad Boy Records artist.
Mark Curry’s Career and Industry Impact
Mark Curry is an American rapper, songwriter, and producer who signed with Bad Boy Records in 1997. He gained national attention for his appearance on the 2001 hit single “Bad Boy for Life” with Diddy and Black Rob.
Although he never released a solo album on the label, he contributed writing and production work across several Bad Boy projects. His collaborations included work with artists connected to the label’s late‑90s and early‑2000s roster.
Later, Curry became known for speaking openly about industry practices and contract structures that shaped his career.
A Deeper Look at His Memoir and Documentary Role
In 2009, Curry published Dancing with the Devil: How Puff Burned the Bad Boys of Hip-Hop, a memoir detailing his decade inside the music industry.
Since then, he has continued to discuss his experiences publicly. Recently, he appeared in the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, offering additional insight into his time at Bad Boy Records.
During the Cary event, Curry will reflect on his relationship with Sean “Puffy” Combs and the realities of major label operations.
