LAS VEGAS — A New York grandmother who vanished during a trip to Las Vegas has been found dead, her family confirmed. This tragically ends a search marked by fear, confusion and unanswered questions. Goods, 63, disappeared on Aug. 8 after leaving a friend’s apartment to visit a CVS. She never returned.

Authorities found Alisa Goods early Aug. 21 near Terminal 1 at Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas police said. Officers responded around 1:45 a.m. after a body was reported in the area. Surveillance video from Aug. 8 showed a woman believed to be Goods near the airport later that afternoon.

Her family said Goods had undergone several leg surgeries and struggled to walk long distances. Because of that, relatives questioned how she reached the airport and why she appeared alone.

Goods had been staying with a friend who told police she left his apartment to visit a store and never returned. He contacted her family, who instructed him to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

On Aug. 12, relatives tried calling Goods’ cellphone. It rang once, then went to voicemail. Later that night, someone answered and immediately hung up, the family said. Soon after, unusual text messages began coming from her phone.

The messages asked for money and bitcoin, which relatives believed Goods would never request. According to Fox 5 NY, her niece Alana Calloway replied that she would get “Kelly” to help. Because no one in the family was named Kelly, Calloway expected a follow‑up question. Instead, the sender replied, “She should send $50.”

Family Seeks Answers After Devastating News

Calloway said in a statement the confirmation of Goods’ death shattered the family.

“We were notified that my aunt was found — not the way we wanted her to be,” she said. “This is an unimaginable loss.”

She thanked the public for “the outpouring of love, support and prayers,” and acknowledged the media’s role in keeping attention on the case.

The family said they searched hospitals, shelters and jails. They also turned over the suspicious messages and phone recordings to investigators. However, they received no answers until police confirmed Goods’ death.

GoFundMe

A GoFundMe created by Goods’ daughter continues to receive support as relatives prepare funeral arrangements. The fundraiser shared the family’s message:

“It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved mother, Alisa Goods, has been found and has passed away. For our family, this is a devastating loss. After the uncertainty and anguish of not knowing where she was, we are now faced with the painful reality of saying goodbye and making arrangements to honor her life and memory.”

The family said Goods was “deeply loved” and asked for privacy as they continue seeking clarity about her final hours.
