Deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street after receiving a medical call, officials confirmed.
Paramedics rushed Harrison to Broward Health Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her dead shortly after arrival, investigators reported.
Boyfriend Arrested at the Scene
Police arrested Harrison’s longtime boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., 25, at the scene and recovered a firearm, deputies stated.
Investigators determined the couple argued inside Whyte Jr.’s vehicle before the confrontation escalated into violence, according to the sheriff’s office.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Harrison’s final moments, showing Whyte Jr. stepping out of the car holding what appeared to be a gun.
Footage also showed him pushing Harrison back inside the vehicle before shots were fired, NBC Miami reported.
Whyte Jr., a former Bethune‑Cookman University football player, now faces a charge of first‑degree murder with a firearm.
He remains held without bond at Broward County Jail, deputies confirmed Saturday.
