Police: TikTok star Maurice Harrison shot and killed longtime boyfriend
Harrison, a hairstylist from Pompano Beach, built a following of more than 235,000 on TikTok before the account was deactivated.
LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. — TikTok star Maurice Harrison, known online as @Girlalala, was shot and killed Friday night in Florida.

Authorities said the 21‑year‑old influencer, who described herself as a “wig influencer,” suffered gunshot wounds inside a car.
Deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the 3300 block of Northwest 37th Street after receiving a medical call, officials confirmed.
Paramedics rushed Harrison to Broward Health Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her dead shortly after arrival, investigators reported.
Boyfriend Arrested at the Scene
Police arrested Harrison’s longtime boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr., 25, at the scene and recovered a firearm, deputies stated.
Investigators determined the couple argued inside Whyte Jr.’s vehicle before the confrontation escalated into violence, according to the sheriff’s office.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Harrison’s final moments, showing Whyte Jr. stepping out of the car holding what appeared to be a gun.
Footage also showed him pushing Harrison back inside the vehicle before shots were fired, NBC Miami reported.
Whyte Jr., a former Bethune‑Cookman University football player, now faces a charge of first‑degree murder with a firearm.
He remains held without bond at Broward County Jail, deputies confirmed Saturday.

Harrison, a hairstylist from Pompano Beach, gained more than 235,000 TikTok followers before the platform deactivated the account.
Her Instagram page, still active, has more than 41,000 followers who admired her colorful and creative wig designs.
She often referred to herself as a “wig influencer,” inspiring fans with bold hairstyles and vibrant personality.
GoFundMe campaign created
Family members launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses, highlighting the community’s grief and support.
Investigation Continues
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene units continue investigating the deadly shooting of the transgender influencer.
Detectives confirmed Whyte Jr. told them he and Harrison had been in a relationship for several years.
Officials said the case remains active, and additional evidence is being reviewed to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
