Restaurant chain Bahama Breeze to close all locations
Darden said it will permanently close 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants and convert the remaining 14 into other concepts within its portfolio.
Darden Restaurants will close its Bahama Breeze brand after completing a year‑long review of strategic options, the company announced Feb. 3. The decision ends nearly three decades of Caribbean‑inspired dining across 28 U.S. locations.
Darden To Close Bahama Breeze Restaurants
Darden said it will permanently close 14 Bahama Breeze restaurants and convert the remaining 14 into other concepts within its portfolio. The company also said the closures will not materially affect its financial results. All restaurants set to close will continue operating through April 5.
Earlier, Darden signaled that Bahama Breeze was no longer a strategic priority. It explored several options, including a possible sale or brand restructuring. After completing its review, the company decided that winding down the brand and converting select locations best supported its long‑term plans.
What Happens to Remaining Bahama Breeze Locations
The 14 restaurants chosen for conversion will shift into other Darden brands over the next 12 to 18 months. These locations will stay open during most of the transition. However, temporary closures may occur when renovations are needed. Darden did not identify which brands will replace Bahama Breeze. Its portfolio includes Olive Garden, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Eddie V’s, and Seasons 52.
Company Statement and Employee Support
In its announcement, Darden said the conversion sites are strong locations that will support other brands in its portfolio. The company also said it plans to place as many Bahama Breeze employees as possible into roles across its other concepts.

Darden released the list of 14 restaurants that will close:
- 500 Center Blvd., Newark, DE

Darden said it does not expect the closures or conversions to significantly affect its financial outlook. The company will continue focusing on strengthening its core brands while completing the transition of Bahama Breeze locations.
