NORTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. — Triplets Laurel, Sophia and Daylan Daly graduated together from College Achieve Central Charter School last month, marking a rare academic milestone for the New Jersey family. Two of the siblings, Laurel and Sophia, earned matching 4.59 GPAs and shared the title of co‑valedictorian, News 12 reports.

New Jersey Triplets Friendly Competition at the Top

In an interview with PEOPLE, Daylan said he expected Sophia to finish first because she “was always in her books,” but he called the tie “a poetic ending.”

Sophia said the competition developed naturally as both sisters pushed themselves academically. Laurel added that sharing the honor “was honestly an privilege,” especially after years of studying together.

Their interests differ. Sophia loves writing and storytelling, while Laurel focuses on STEM subjects. Yet both maintained top grades throughout high school, ultimately landing at the same GPA down to the decimal.

A Family Rooted in Education

The triplets credit their grandmother for instilling discipline and a love of learning. She required daily reading during summers and filled their home with educational tools.

Their father who died in 2022, also inspired their academic drive. His belief that “you sleep one‑third of your life” shaped their graduation speech and encouraged them to work hard.

Preparing for Separate Paths

Although the siblings spent their entire lives together, they will soon head in different directions. Sophia will attend the University of Pennsylvania, Laurel will begin at Princeton University and Daylan will study at Rutgers University.

The triplets say the transition will be emotional, but they feel ready for the challenge. They also hope their story encourages younger students to embrace learning and support one another.

Congratulations !
