Former “Glee” dancer Brittany Parks reveals stage 2 triple‑negative breast cancer diagnosis

Former Glee dancer Brittany Parks, 38, has revealed she is battling stage 2 triple‑negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of the disease that grows and spreads more quickly than other breast cancers.
Former Glee Dancer Brittany Parks Diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Parks shared the diagnosis in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday, Aug. 2, telling fans she has been undergoing nonstop tests, doctor’s appointments and “mental rollercoasters” since learning the news.
Parks appeared on Glee from 2009 to 2015 as a featured dancer, performing in numerous musical numbers throughout the series. In her post, she wrote that the next year “is going to be difficult, and that’s to say the least,” but said she feels confident in her treatment plan. “I WILL be okay and I will come out on the other side kicking cancer’s ass,” she added.
Triple‑negative breast cancer lacks the three receptors commonly used to target many breast cancer treatments, making it harder to treat and more aggressive, according to the American Cancer Society.
Treatment Forces Parks to Pause Her Career
Parks has spent years traveling the world teaching tap dance and workshopping major Broadway productions, including Shuffle Along and 42nd Street. Because she is now immunocompromised, treatment has made it difficult for her to continue traveling and teaching as she did before.
She said working closely with her doctors has helped her feel “confident and at ease” with her treatment plan, which includes chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Former Glee star Heather Morris Launches Fundraiser to Support Parks
Former Glee co‑star Heather Morris launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Parks as she undergoes treatment. The fundraiser has raised more than $46,000 at the time of this report.
The fundraiser describes Parks as “magnificent, lively, and loving,” with an “infectious laugh and spritely soul.” It notes that Parks has long been a backbone for others during difficult times and now needs support as she navigates chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
The GoFundMe says all donations will go directly toward Parks’ rent, food, daily living expenses and medical expenses.
As Parks continues treatment, fans, friends and colleagues across the dance and Broadway communities have rallied around her, sharing messages of strength and encouragement.
