BLK, the No. 1 dating and social app for Black singles, is teaming up with Planet Aid, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable clothing reuse, to launch #ItsGivingSZN, a playful yet meaningful campaign that transforms post-breakup blues into opportunities for giving back.

BLK X Planet Aid ItsGivingSZN

Hoodies, often treasured tokens of love during relationships and lingering reminders after breakups, are at the heart of this initiative—encouraging singles to donate these emotional keepsakes to support sustainability and global communities in need.

With December 11—famously known as “National Breakup Day”—just around the corner, BLK and Planet Aid are inviting singles to donate their ex’s hoodies (and other clothing items) to support global communities in need while making space for fresh starts. Whether through in-person drop-offs at branded bins or via BLK’s new online donation portal, #ItsGivingSZN makes it easier than ever to turn heartbreak into a force for good.

A Planet-Powered Partnership

The partnership with Planet Aid brings a powerful purpose to this initiative. As a nonprofit focused on clothing reuse and sustainability, Planet Aid ensures that all donated items are repurposed responsibly to reduce textile waste and support communities worldwide.

Every hoodie donated helps Planet Aid continue its mission of protecting the environment and improving lives through programs in education, health, and sustainable development.

“Planet Aid is the perfect partner for #ItsGivingSZN,” said Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Brand and Marketing at BLK.

“Not only are they leading the charge on reducing textile waste, but they’re also making a meaningful impact in communities around the world. Together, we’re turning something as simple as an old hoodie into a powerful act of giving.”
