Recently Mr. Wronko’s Facing History classes had the opportunity to video conference the students in Ghana. For this spectacular session, both sides presented presentations on Native Americans.
Presentations on Native Americans
Presentations were based on the many tribes such as Aleuts, Algonquin speaking tribes (Shawnee and Iroquois Federation), Cherokee, Choctaw, Seminole, Eskimos, Inuit, Anasazi (Pueblo), Hopi, Mound Builders, Blackfoot, Navajos, Apaches, Nez Pierce, Walla Walla, Aztec, Inca, and Mayan.
Students in Ghana and Mr. Wronko’s classes spoke about the culture and way of life of these tribes. All students gained the knowledge that Native Americans had highly organized governments and economic systems.
In addition, the students in Ghana described and spoke about the Battle of Tippecanoe which involved many famous historical figures such as William Henry Harrison, Tecumseh, and Tenskwatawa.
The students on both sides did a great job with their presentations and below the pictures and videos from this event were posted:
