The first thing on my mind is this adorable kid in this video. I love the interaction he has with his mother. She tells him that all her money is being spent feeding him. But his response to her is so adorable. This kid is already more of a celebrity than I will ever be. Check it out in the link.

The next thing on my mind is the wonderful artwork that my Asbury Park High School Students have done. Ja’Shawn Gadson drew this amazing T-Rex type of dinosaur. Jose Jordan drew this amazing sea monster battle. Luis Martinez Martinez drew this Star Spangled War Stories cover which could be an issue of a war stories comic book. Check out his drawing compared to one of the actual issues.
I think my young artists are getting to be just as good as Charles R. Knight and his artwork on preshistoric life.
Besides his dinosaur drawing, Ja’Shawn Gadson had to create his own car this school year for one of my enrichment projects. He created the Panther Mobile. Super-fast, super safe, and will make your life super exciting! Check out his artwork below.
Another thing on my mind is how part of Godzilla vs Kong is in a way similar to stories such as Jules Verne’s A Journey to the Center of the Earth and Edgar Rice Burroughs’ At the Earth’s Core. All three deal with a world beneath the surface of the Earth as well as prehistoric life that has not been seen by the eyes of man. In Godzilla vs Kong, when Kong went underground into the Hollow Earth, it reminded me of a scene from the movie The Fabulous Journey to the Center of the Earth because in that movie brave explorers run into a giant gorilla that resembled King Kong. The images below show a comic book of the original story of A Journey to the Center of the Earth, a scene from Godzilla vs Kong when Kong is battling the Nozuki (Warbat), two rhino dinosaurs fighting in the movie At the Earth’s Core, Godzilla vs Kong once again with Kong in Hollow Earth, and the giant gorilla from The Fabulous Journey to the Center of the Earth. Images were from Syfy Wire, Flickr, Scified, and Red/Media Blasters.
Relating this topic to another current event is the possible sequel to Godzilla vs Kong. There is a rumor that the next film would be called the Son of Kong. There is a movie called the Son of Kong which was made back in 1933. The movie is about Kong’s son helping individuals find the treasure of Skull Island. Will they follow the same plot, who knows? However, I hope that they take the character of Gaw from the book, Kong: King of Skull Island. Gaw in this book was like a very large monstrous velociraptor type creature and the villain of the story. Gaw would be an awesome villain to have if this is made into a sequel.
The final thing with this topic is how Godzilla vs Kong reminded me of the movie The Land That Time Forgot (1974). When Godzilla crawled up on the battleship, it reminded me of when the sea monster in the The Land That Time Forgot attacked the main characters on the submarine. The Godzilla vs Kong movie brought back many childhood memories.
Check out how Kong pulling on Mecha Godzilla’s mouth in Godzilla vs Kong is very similar to a lot of Kong’s wins.

Since we are in the realm of monsters, another thing on my mind is that I believe that Robert Rines, American lawyer and inventor, discovered some sort of creature in Loch Ness. When my students and I at Asbury Park High School analyzed this underwater photograph taken from one of Rines’ expeditions on the Loch, we have concluded that he took a picture of something alive. You decide. Check below.
In addition to the Loch Ness Monster, another thing on my mind is the sightings of UFOs. Just recently there are so many UFO stories out. The question is are we going to be invaded by little green men. Who knows? But I find this very interesting because we have to ask ourselves is there life on other planets. The combination of these two topics made me think back to the Turok Son of Stone comic which appeared to have a Loch Ness type of monster on it eating an alien type of creature with UFOs. Check out that image below along with some clips about UFO sightings.

Another thing on my mind is the summer Olympics. Two incredible stars that will dominate their sports are Simone Biles and Sha’Carri Richardson. Simone Biles, artistic gymnast, is just incredible. The way she can flip, jump, and maneuver her whole body during these gymnastic trials is incredible. I do not think anyone will be able to keep up with her when the Olympics take place in Tokyo. Furthermore, the 100 meters will have a new American champion in Sha’Carri Richardson. The speed she showed during her competition was incredible. Her strength and endurance like Simone will not be matched in Tokyo. In conclusion, expect Simone Biles and Sha’Carri Richardson on the highest gold platform.
The final thing on my mind is that so many unfortunate things happened during the pandemic. One thing that caught my attention was the passing of Tom Lister Jr. Tom Lister Jr., to me always will be the wrestler Zeus, passed away due to Covid 19. This to me was heart breaking. I remembered Tom Lister Jr. play the role of the wrestler Zeus who dominated Hulk Hogan. I also rembered him for a brief cameo in the Batman movie The Dark Knight. He was in so many different things. Every time he was in something, I would always say “hey there is Zeus.”
Speaking of the pandemic, one thing that helped me with the stress of dealing with the threat of Covid 19 was Rihanna’s song Diamonds. To me this song is so peaceful and beautiful that when I put it on, the song helped me sleep at night especially after hearing the stressful news of the pandemic. Now with vaccines, hopefully this nightmare of a pandemic will end. Check out her song Rihanna – Diamonds – YouTube.
