Crystal Arlette Rogers was born April 10, 1948, to the late Bernice Logan Wright and Benjamin (Benny) Turner. She departed this life for her heavenly home on January 4, 2025.
Life for Crystal Rogers
Crystal was a graduate of the Long Branch Public School System.
In her early years, she worked at Steinbach Factory and Planned Parenthood, educating the youth. She always had a passion for young children, so she went on to work for the Knowledge Learning Center Before/Aftercare program for 10 years before retiring.
“Aunt Crystal”
Crystal was the baby sister of her siblings, who helped raise her once their mother passed away. She grew to have a nurturing spirit and loved babysitting her nieces and nephews’ children.
Logan family
She was by far the best storyteller in the Logan family. When there was a family function, you could rest assured that “Aunt Crystal” had the family cracking up about what mischief she and her niece Teah got into when they were young.
During her downtime, you could catch her watching a good game show, a great movie on Tubi, hanging out with Maddy and Nae, talking with her cousin Teah, or Facetiming with her great grands.
Her courageous battle with cancer
In 2012, Crystal was diagnosed with lung cancer and in 2014 diagnosed with breast cancer, but she did not let that stop her faith in the Lord. Her perseverance, determination, and courage were truly unmatched.
Unwavering faith to the Lord
She was a founding member and Church Mother of the Powerhouse Tabernacle Church of Tinton Falls, N.J., where she held the national title and overseer for all the mothers in the church. The love was felt by all members, especially her church sons Maurice White, Ernest Jones, and Alex William Petty.
Crystal Rogers loved her family
Crystal was married to the love of her life John (Buddy) Rogers and from that union, they had two children.
The Rogers household was full of fun, excitement, love, and craziness, when the boys were young. It was never a dull moment when Crystal was saving the boy from getting in trouble with Pops.
Who predeceased Crystal Rogers
Crystal was predeceased by her parents, her husband John H. Rogers, her sisters, Barbara Stokes, Jeanette Platts, Jean Hastings, and Wanda Andino, brother Victor Turner, stepson Kirk Wilcott and best friends Margaret (Noonie) Shuler and Prestina William.
Who leaves to cherish her memory
She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, John Rogers (Nicole) and Pastor Jason Rogers, two adopted sons; one stepdaughter, and her brother; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; three best friends, two Godchildren, and a close and special niece.
