Michael Taylor, the teen who was spanked by his uncle for boasting about gang ties on his Facebook was found shot to death nearby his New Orleans home.

Taylor, 16, was found shot to death shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7. In a video uploaded in January, Taylor’s uncle spanked the teen after finding out about his gang ties.

Michael Taylor had been shot several times.

The video sparked a national reaction many praising the uncle for taking action calling an over-due old-fashioned parenting.

    It is so sad that gangs have that much control over our kid’s life.  I know the uncle must feel so sick.  Let pull together to get rid of the gangs!  Stop it black people! Stop being so asleep!

    You are so right Marice, I just don’t understand how every group of
    people can take control of their kids and the people of color can’t.
    They better start learning and teaching their kids so that they the kids
    can be around for a successful life.
