GoFundMe launched to support children after Mississippi mother’s fatal battle with cancer
Whitney Taylor, a 35‑year‑old Mississippi mother, died last Thursday after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer.

GULFPORT, Miss. — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the three young sons of Whitney Taylor, a 35‑year‑old Mississippi mother who died last Thursday after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. The fundraiser aims to cover funeral expenses and provide long‑term stability for her children as the family faces profound loss.
GoFundMe Created for Whitney Taylor’s Family after Cancer Battle
Taylor’s loved ones created the campaign as she entered hospice care in the final stages of her illness. They described her as a devoted mother, a cherished friend, and a woman whose strength shaped everyone around her.
“She is only 35 years old, far too young, and deeply loved by the many people whose lives she has touched with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love,” the GoFundMe post reads.
Taylor leaves behind three boys, ages 5, 8, and 10. Organizers say the children were her greatest joy and remain the central focus of the fundraising effort.
Grandmother Steps In as Sole Caregiver
According to the GoFundMe page, the boys will now be cared for by their grandmother. She is also recovering from cancer, adding emotional and financial strain as she steps into her new role.
Because of this, organizers say the funds will support:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Immediate needs for the children
- Long‑term stability and care
“No amount is too small,” the post states, urging supporters to donate or share the campaign.
Community Rallies Around Mississippi Mother Whitney Taylor’s Family
The fundraiser has already drawn support from friends, neighbors, and community members who hope to ease the burden on Taylor’s family. Organizers say the generosity reflects the deep impact Taylor had on those who knew her.
“Your generosity and compassion mean more than words can express,” the family wrote. “Thank you for helping us honor an extraordinary woman and surround her children with love and support.”
