Police arrested two people in connection to the fatal shooting of Migos rapper Takeoff, Houston authorities announced Friday.
Arrests made in Rapper Takeoff fatal shooting
Patrick Clark, 33, was arrested Thursday on a charge of murder, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said during a news conference.
“We were able to deduce that Patrick Clark is the lethal shooter in the case, and that’s why he’s being charged with murder,” Houston Police Department Sgt. Michael Burrow said.
The second person, Cameron Joshua, was arrested Nov. 22 on a charge of felony possession of weapon, the chief said.
Fatally Shot in Houston
Takeoff, who was a member of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, was shot and killed outside a bowling alley on November 1 where he was attending a private event. He was 28. His uncle Quavo and cousin Offset were the other two members of the trio.
Takeoff was an innocent bystander. He was not involved in the dice game nor the argument and he was not armed, authorities said.
Investigation
Prosecutors in Harris County requested a $1 million bond for Clark, arguing he should be considered a “flight risk.” He had applied for an expedited passport, which he was granted before his arrest.
Prosecutors requested that Clark forfeit any passports, visas, or other travel documents and be barred from leaving the immediate vicinity of Harris County and be subject to a curfew.
