Arkansas siblings lean on each other after mother’s sudden death from brain aneurysm
Three Arkansas siblings are working to rebuild their lives after their mother, Tylena Wright, died from a sudden brain aneurysm last month.
CONWAY, Ark. — Three Arkansas siblings are working to rebuild their lives after their mother, Tylena Wright, died from a sudden brain aneurysm last month. Her children, Talaysia, 22; Xavier, 19; and Aariah, 16, said the loss changed everything in an instant.
Family Says Loss Came Without Warning
They told CBS 11 ALIVE that their home always felt full of laughter. “Me and my sister play around somewhere,” Xavier Wright said. “I put my mom, and you just go in and mess with her.”
Aariah said she loved teasing her mom too. Their bond stayed tight, and it was usually just the four of them. However, everything shifted the day Xavier’s phone lit up with an alert.
A Crash Alert Led Them to the Hospital
Xavier said he saw a critical crash notification from his mother’s phone. He and his sisters rushed out the door. “We just left, driving to the wreck scene,” he said. When they called her phone, an officer answered and told them to head to the hospital.
“When I actually got there, I saw her get pushed into the hospital on the stretcher,” he said.
Doctors later flew their mother to UAMS in Little Rock. Soon after, the family received devastating news.
“The neurologist came in and told us that she had severe brain bleeding, and they couldn’t really do nothing about it,” Xavier told 11Alive.
According to the family’s GoFundMe, Tylena suffered a brain aneurysm while driving. She lost consciousness and crashed into oncoming traffic.
Arkansas Siblings Faced an Impossible Decision
Doctors explained that their mother would not recover. The siblings had to make a decision no child expects to face.
“They said it’s like, no, really, no chance of her being normal,” Xavier said. “We came to an agreement, and we just made the decision as a family.”
He said the moment still feels unreal. Aariah agreed. “Sometimes, it doesn’t click that she passed away,” she said. “It’s weird, but I think it’s getting better.”
Holding Onto Her Legacy
The siblings now spend evenings looking through photo albums and old notebooks. They even found a list of dreams their mother once wrote down. “Her prediction was to have two children, boy and a girl, live in Dallas or Atlanta, drive a Mercedes or a BMW,” Xavier said.
Those memories keep them grounded. “My mom would not want me to be down all day,” Xavier said. “It’s okay to be sad sometimes, but you got to get back up and keep moving.”
GoFundMe Created to Help Keep the Arkansas Siblings Stable
With two siblings in college and one in high school, the family is trying to stay afloat. Xavier said he created the GoFundMe to help cover basic needs and keep a roof over their heads.
“No matter what, you have to have some type of money to sustain life,” he said. “I just try to raise money to keep our family afloat.”
The siblings said they take each day as it comes. “I love her,” Xavier said. “We gonna find a way.”
Their verified GoFundMe continues to accept donations as the family works through their grief and adjusts to life without their mother.
