Jazz player Chuck Lambert
Mr. Lambert was thrilled that he could have a concert for Mr. Wronko’s students and the students in Ghana.
He performed many songs such as Billie Holiday’s God Bless the Child, Ray Charles’ Hallelujah I love her so, Kansas City, Greensleeves, Summertime Jazz, and much more.
Mr. Lambert at one point during his concert used his musical talent to create a song on the spot for all the students. His talent using the guitar was phenomenal.
His musical background
Chuck Lambert told the students at the age of eight he studied piano and oboe.
By the age of twelve he began to play the guitar after being exposed to Caribbean culture by his godfather.
Furthermore, he informed the students that he had and was still performing along the Jersey Shore, New York City and Philadelphia.
He had opened for Little Feat, American rock band, and Kenny Wayne Shepard, American guitarist, singer, and song writer.
After his concert, Mr. Lambert asked the students in Ghana if they were involved in playing any musical instruments.
The students told him they were learning the guitar, piano, violin, drums, and clarinet.
Mr. Lambert told the students that his cousin was currently playing the bass guitar and also sings.
Thank you Jazz player Chuck Lambert
I would like to thank Chuck Lambert for taking time out of his busy schedule and coming to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School to perform for a session of Ghana.
Chuck had mentioned that he would like to return and perform new material for the students.
This year the Ghana sessions had been very unique because now the sessions incorporate musical talents from outside the school who want to perform such as Ronnie Brandt and Chuck Lambert.
