An HBCU graduate has made history becoming the first woman and first African-American designated as the U.S. Capitol Police Acting Chief.

New job duties
As the acting chief of police, she will be responsible for administering the Department in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and ensuring that organizational objectives are met, including the protection of the U.S. Capitol, reports Morgan State.
