In a newly released autopsy, the death of Cleveland 12-year-old Tamir Rice who was fatally shot by police, has been ruled a homicide according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office.

Tamir Rice, was shot on Nov. 22nd by Cleveland police, after police responded to a 911 call of a suspect waving a handgun around a Cleveland park.

When officers arrived on the scene, within seconds they fired shots at the 12-year-old. The weapon would later turn out to be toy gun. Rice died the next day.

The autopsy report said that Rice sustained a single wound to the left side of his abdomen that traveled from front to back and lodged in his pelvis.
