The weekend of March 20th – 22nd, IKAM Productions will host their inaugural Women’s History Month Celebration: Beyond The Dream, a series of programs inspired by the creation of the company – a place to showcase the voices and may facets of creative women.
This year’s program will feature highly decorated actress, Jasmine Guy, most notably known for her role of Whitley Gilbert on the hit show, A Different World.
Beyond the Dream will kick off the weekend with a VIP Reception on Friday, March 20th, at THEARC, located in the Historic Anacostia area of Washington, DC. Jasmine Guy will serve as the special guest and Violinist Kendall Isadore will be providing LIVE music. The signature program “Curtains & Conversations”with Jasmine Guy will take place the following morning were participants will hear about Jasmine’s journey to living beyond the dream, her tips to staying involved and engaged, and sharing
some things she’s learned over the years. The conversation will be moderated by Thembi Duncan.
When asked about the excitement of celebrating Women’s History Month with IKAM Productions Jasmine Guy states:
“I am looking forward to celebrating Women’s History Month in the nation’s
capital with working women who, like myself, strive every day to express their truth and unleash their creativity as part of ‘living the dream.’ Inspiring and supporting each other is something artists – especially women – have done for centuries, and I am always privileged when asked to share my experiences. My thanks go out to Carletta Hurt for putting this weekend together and for inviting me to be a part of it.”
