GoFundMe launched for Long Branch shooting victim Chrystofer Whyte

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to support the family of Chrystofer Whyte, an 18-year-old TikTok creator who was tragically killed in a shooting at Pier Village in Long Branch, New Jersey.

The fundraiser, organized by Whyte’s friend, aims to help cover funeral expenses and provide financial relief to his family.

Whyte, a 2024 graduate of Woodbridge High School, was fatally shot on the beach near the boardwalk just before 9 p.m. on June 12. Authorities have described the incident as isolated, and no arrests have been made at this time.

The young influencer had amassed nearly 100,000 followers on TikTok, where he was known for his energetic backflips and dances. The last video he posted was at the beach relaxing before the tragic shooting.

The GoFundMe page describes Whyte as a “beautiful soul” whose loss has deeply impacted his family and friends. As of June 16, the campaign had raised $15,000 with a goal of $22,000.

Investigation

Authorities are still investigating the shooting and are requesting that anyone who may have been on the beach, or in the vicinity at the time, and has firsthand video footage of the incident on their phones or electronic devices, to please come forward.
