Reward offered in fatal shooting of New Jersey man
Octavis Sanders Jr, 28, was shot and killed around 3:35 a.m. Aug. 14 inside the Asbury Park Gardens apartment complex, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
ASBURY PARK, N.J. — Long Branch native Octavis Sanders Jr., 28, was fatally shot Aug. 14 inside the Asbury Park Gardens apartment complex. Monmouth County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and prosecution.
What happened to Long Branch native Octavis Sanders Jr?
Sanders, 28, was shot and killed around 3:35 a.m. Aug. 14 inside the Asbury Park Gardens apartment complex, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Born in Long Branch, Sanders graduated from Long Branch High School in 2015. He worked as a landscaper and was the father of one daughter. Family members described him as thoughtful, intelligent and known for a smile that lit up the room.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not released suspect details. However, investigators believe someone may have witnessed the incident or heard relevant information. The case remains active.
