Lee, who is also a podcaster and philanthropist, posted on Facebook that Burna Boy learned of the tragedy while listening to The Breakfast Club radio show. The singer connected with Lee through record executive Wack 100.

“After The Breakfast Club shared Amari’s story, Wack 100 reached out and connected me with Burna Boy,” Lee wrote. “Burna didn’t know these families, but when he heard what happened, he stepped up with compassion and offered to cover the funeral costs for all the kids we lost.”

Statement From Burna Boy

“When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke,” Burna Boy said in a statement provided to the Stockton Record. “No family should ever face this kind of pain alone.”

Community Impact

Lee praised Burna Boy’s generosity, saying it eases families’ burdens during unimaginable grief. “That kind of love and generosity matters,” Lee said. “It won’t erase the tragedy, but it gives these families one less burden to carry.”

Investigation Continues into Stockton mass shooting

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed no arrests have been made. Investigators believe multiple shooters may have been involved. The case remains active as authorities seek justice for the victims.
