Internships

Unheard Voices is currently accepting internship applications. Internships are non-paid part-time positions which can be credit based with a time commitment of 15 hours per week.  Internships sessions start Fall, Spring, and Summer. 

Work schedule is flexible and can be done from anywhere in the world. You will be required to stay in constant communication with management preferably through MS teams.

Public Relations Intern

This position will serve as an assistant in digital media and marketing with Unheard Voices Magazine LLC. Interns will conduct media research, developing media contact lists, and pitching stories to journalists on Unheard Voices initiatives. Interns will assist with the planning of marketing events, write media releases and newsletters, and update social media pages. They also create media kits and client information packages.

Essential Functions:

• Supporting the PR manager in implementing the company’s PR strategy.
• Creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms, and newsletters.
• Building relationships with clients and potential clients, suppliers, and the media.
• Providing assistance to the PR manager with the scheduling and organizing of events.
• Giving input on marketing initiatives and suggesting creative ways to improve the company’s public image.
• Conducting research on marketing initiatives of the company’s competitors.
• Monitoring of media coverage on events and media releases that were issued and creating press clippings.
• Expand and optimize social media initiatives across platforms
• Maintaining Unheard Voices social media accounts
• Engage with the social media community and respond to posts
• Assist with the daily newsletter
• Performs research to find relevant content for Unheard Voices and all its subsidiaries

Requirements:

• Creative self-starter that can work independently and in collaboration with others
• Experience working with content management systems
• Familiar with social media platforms
• Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with customers.
• Good research and analytical skills.
• Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  Efficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Graphic Design Intern:

Interns will assist with any graphic related material. The graphic design intern will work on projects for Unheard Voices social media, the online magazine and any sub domains including Unheard Voices Radio, Television, and blogs associated with the website.

Editorial/Journalism Intern

Interns will contribute to the many sections of the website. This includes, but not limited to, news, fashion, business, Unheard Underground, social justice, music, interviews, reviews, coverage of events, etc. Interns will receive press passes to events for coverage via Unheard Voices Magazine, LLC. Interns will also carry in-person and phone interviews with talent.

Photography Intern

Interns will be required to photograph various events, and projects for the online magazine. Events, parties, fashion shows, concerts, community events, etc. Photographers will also get press passes and receive credit on all photos. In order to participate in this internship, you must have your own digital camera.
