Phylicia Barnes murder could be linked to child porn ring
FBI officials are investigating whether Phylicia Barnes murder is linked to a child pornography ring.
FBI officials are investigating whether Phylicia Barnes murder is linked to a child pornography ring.
The North Carolina teen went missing after visiting family in Baltimore. Nearly four months later, her body was found near a damn by the Susquehanna River.
According to North Carolina WSOC-TV, investigators are seeking warrants for the Facebook and email accounts of Phylicia Barnes and four Baltimore men.
FBI agent Jacqueline Dougher has reason to believe the accounts contain evidence of child sex crimes and child pornographers who may have targeted Barnes before the crime.
Barnes’ body was found along with that of 53-year-old Darryl Harper. However police say there is no connection between the two.
Police still have not released Barnes’ cause of death, saying that information could “jeopardize the investigation.”
