A Kansas City mother and her three young children have been missing for nearly 48 hours, leaving her husband and extended family terrified as police widen the search. One of the children, an 8‑year‑old girl, is autistic, adding urgency to the investigation.

Police are looking for a white Mercury Villager with Missouri license plate UG6‑T3P. Odessa Blocker, 37, told her husband she was taking their children to a McDonald’s near 125th Street and Blue Ridge in Grandview around 7:30 p.m. Monday. The family never returned home.

Unclear Whether They Reached the Restaurant

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to determine whether the family arrived at the restaurant. Police confirmed only one thing with certainty: the Blockers did not make it back home that night.

“Did they roll into a ditch, did somebody take them?” her husband, Chris Blocker, told Fox 4. “I don’t know what happened.”

Husband Says Initial Police Response Felt Dismissive

Chris Blocker said he called 911 when he realized something was wrong, but he felt officers did not treat the situation urgently.

“When I asked them when they were out here yesterday or do you need pictures, they were like no, we don’t need them yet,” he said.

The children often visited the McDonald’s for dessert and playtime. Monday night, they never came home.

Family Says Disappearance Is Out of Character

Blocker acknowledged that he and his wife had discussed divorce, but he insisted she would never vanish without contacting someone.

“Even if she had just left, she would let us know the kids are safe,” he said. “She’s not irresponsible in that fashion.”

Odessa’s sister, Oleda Cooke, agreed. She said her sister would not disappear with the children without telling family, even if she wanted to leave the marriage.

Her parents echoed that fear, saying no one in the family has slept in two days.

Police Checking Phone Records, Banks, Hospitals

According to the family, police attempted to trace Odessa’s phone but found no activity. Investigators are also checking:

• Bank and card transactions
• Local hospitals
• Area shelters

So far, none of the searches have produced leads.
