Grammy nominated songstress Amel Larrieux is back on the music scene with her incredible new single entitled Afraid.
The track produced by long time collaborator and husband, Laru Larrieux, boasts a blend of her past singles such as “Get Up” and “For Real”, mixed with more aggressive and distinct production work, and also shows just how fresh and creative Amel is as a songwriter.
Amel articulates, “The words fell out of me as they do for all songs. I’m not always conscious of why I’m writing a lyric but my subconscious always is and it informs the content of the song.
I can say that it isn’t a coincidence that the lyric is sensual and passionate. The music evoked those sentiments from the moment I heard it. I am a serious romantic and LOVE a very yearning, metaphoric prose when it comes to issues of the heart.
For me, the more visual the lyric, the more visceral it is for the listener.”
Afraid is the lead single off of Amel’s new album dubbed Ice Cream Everydayto be released August 27th 2013. The physical album is available for pre-order at www.blisslife.com. ” Afraid is available for purchase on iTunes click here and fans can also listen to the full audio stream now!
