Twerking: When is it going too far?
When are we going to realize there is a time and a place for everything?
Why would someone want to put out a video of their baby twerking?
When are we going to realize there is a time and a place for everything?
When are we going to realize that certain things are just not for kids?
Recently I was surfing through YouTube and I fell upon this totally disturbing video.
I get it! Miley Cyrus has started a trend but come one now! Is this what we are going to have our little girls thinking is standard? Why would someone want to put out a video of their baby twerking? With all the pedophiles in the world, all the little girls missing, all the molestation, all the under age pregnancy… Is it just me or should this be an automatic ACS case?
So what does her parents say when they get a call from her school saying that she was caught doing this in class? Or even worst, what if they get a call saying she was engaging in sexual activities in school?
How do we allow these young girls to believe it is okay to exploit themselves on the internet? Where are the parents? Why do they have enough free time to do this? Where is the guidance? Where is the self respect? Above all why is the idea of self respect so jaded?
We are living in a day and age where self worth is disgustingly diminished because it’s no longer “needed”. Females are now no more than what their bodies can afford them. Our value is now based on the diameters of our ass-ets. Now all we are is tight warm hole created to give pleasure. I REFUSE to let myself fall victim to these ignorant standards as should every other female.
I don’t have kids but I have little sisters and I refuse to ever let them believe that acting like all there are is their ass. They will know that there is more to life than enticing people with their physicality.
We are failing our young women because we are not instilling in them worth. We are allowing them to believe that it is okay to be half naked and leaving nothing to the imagination. Their bodies are developing before their minds and they don’t have the knowledge needed to protect themselves. WE, THE ELDER FEMALES HAVE TO SUPPLY THEM WITH THE KNOWLEDGE. How can they know better if we do not show them better? How can they know better if we are the line leaders of ignorance.
As women of color we are already challenged with statistics. Why prove the statistics right? How hard is it to look them in the face and prove them wrong? There is no way to expect more when you give less. You get out of life what you put in to it.
This is the standard that we are setting…
When this is the standard we should be setting…
Changing the path our young women are on starts with US!
