Ghana Super Session: Ed Johnson Former Mayor Of Asbury Park And Member Of Global Parliament Of Mayors
Former mayor of Asbury Park, Ed Johnson, participated in a Ghana session at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School in Asbury Park, NJ.

Just recently former mayor of Asbury Park, Ed Johnson, participated in a Ghana session.

During this session, Mr. Johnson spoke to the students in Ghana about his upbringing, parents involvement in the Civil Rights Movement, meeting president Barack Obama, career as mayor of Asbury Park, and involvement in community and global affairs.
Mr. Johnson’s involvement in global affairs led to the discussion about being a member of the Global Parliament of Mayors.

He explained that the Parliament of Mayors consisted of mayors from all continents and they all meet to help solve global and community issues that affect everyone. They come up with projects to help all cities achieve success.
Presentation about Ghana
In addition, the students in Ghana gave Ed Johnson a presentation about Ghana.
In their presentation they used a green screen to show visuals representing their topics. Their topics were about history, culture, politics, sports, food, and hobbies.
Mr. Johnson really enjoyed their presentation which led to the students in Ghana asking him about his hobbies and what he enjoys doing on his time off. Mr. Johnson explained that he was a very big traveler and went to many countries. By the end of the session Mr. Johnson told the students in Ghana that he was looking forward to working with them on future projects.

Mr. Johnson will also be working with Mr. Wronko and Mr. Tim Mason, seventh grade science teacher at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, on future video conferencing projects.
In addition, Mr. Mason discussed a recycling project with Mr. Johnson that will be implemented in the near future.
