2019-2020 Ghana Sessions: Prehistoric Times, Famous Historians And Archaeologists, Meet And Greet, Columbus Day
Just recently over the past two weeks, the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Middle School students in Mr. Wronko’s class participated in two Ghana sessions.

Just recently over the past two weeks, the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Middle School students in Mr. Wronko’s class participated in two Ghana sessions.
Prehistoric times
The first session dealt with prehistoric times. Students in Ghana gave a presentation regarding life in the stone age and why everyone should study this topic today.
In addition, Mr. Wronko’s students read poetry about life in the prehistoric times as well as their stories about surviving in the Paleolithic and Neolithic times.
Famous historians and archaeologists
The second session dealt with the students in Ghana giving a presentation on famous historians and archaeologists. Two famous names that were mentioned and discussed during their presentation were Herodotus and Howard Carter.
After the students in Ghana gave their presentation, Mr. Wronko’s students gave a presentation on an adventure story involving an archaeologist going after an ancient artifact like Indiana Jones and the creation of a device that would help an archaeologist breath and see better as they search the lower levels of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Furthermore, in the afternoon after the morning of the second session, Mr. Wronko assisted Eric Jones and Darryl Batts, the heads of Oiada International, conduct a Ghana session with students from first through fourth grade. This session involved the students meeting and greeting each other as well as sharing hobbies and culture.
Finally, to celebrate Columbus Day, Mr. Wronko students from Facing History created a power point presentation on Columbus’ accomplishments in regards to exploration as well as other European Explorers. Some students made the point that European Exploration helped inspire future explorations such as the search for buried treasure, new lands, and outer space.
In closing, a big thanks to Mrs. Elgart’s chorus for their Spanish Heritage Performance for the second Ghana session mentioned in this posting.
