Brayan Zavala : Family Demands Justice After Teen Is Gunned Down
13-year-old Brayan Zavala was gunned down in his front yard in Georgia as his father and brother watched in horror.
13-year-old Brayan Zavala from Georgia was fatally shot in front of his family while doing yard work on his front lawn.
What happened to Brayan Zavala?
Zavala was fixing a lawnmower with his father and brother in the family’s front yard in Riverdale, Georgia when a masked person approached him, according to the Clayton County police.
Suspect
The suspect was allegedly armed with a shotgun and fired a single shot, which struck Brayan. The teen died at the scene.
The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived, authorities said.
There is no description of the suspect and no motive in the fatal shooting, reported CBS46.
“The Clayton County Police Department is humbly asking the community and any persons having knowledge of this crime to contact the police department or Crime Stoppers for any information about this case,” authorities said in a statement.
Investigation
The family has set up The Brayan Zavala Memorial Fund to help with expenses.
Organized by Brayan’s brother Jesus Zavala, they are also asking the public to help find his brother’s killer.
Brayan would have turned 14 years old next month.
“It’s been a week now since my brother died and not had – I haven’t had anything, no answers from police,” his brother Jesus told 11Alive.
Clayton County Police is asking anyone who may have any information to contact them at 770-477-4479 or submit the tip on the Clayton County Police Department’s website.
