McDonald’s manager stabbed to death
Jennifer Harris, 39, was attacked by 26-year-old employee Afeni Badu Muhammad after a workplace dispute escalated.
Two days earlier, Muhammad posted Instagram videos accusing Harris of bullying and sending her home early twice.
“She’s a bully,” Muhammad said in one video. “It’s not funny. Somebody about to do something about that.”
In the posts, Muhammad claimed Harris created “negative energy” and disrespected staff. She said, “She think she a big dog.”
Police say Muhammad returned to the restaurant wearing a mask and armed with a kitchen knife. The attack occurred around 8 a.m.
A drive-thru customer fired a warning shot and held Muhammad at gunpoint until officers arrived.
Beloved mother
Harris, a mother of six and 15-year McDonald’s veteran, was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
“She woke up every day and went to work for us,” said her daughter Antonia Griffin. “My mama died taking care of us.”
Muhammad was arraigned Friday on first-degree murder and weapon charges. Her bond is set at $25 million.
“This was senseless,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “Six children now grow up without a mother.”
