Southern eatery Nana’s Chicken & Waffles, founded by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kelli Ferrell, has officially opened its second location at The Prado Shopping Center in Sandy Springs. The expansion marks a major milestone for the restaurant, which first launched in Conyers in 2016 and later relocated to McDonough in 2022.

Nana’s Chicken & Waffles opens second location

Located at 5600 Roswell Road, the new 2,800-square-foot space offers Ferrell’s signature blend of comfort food and culinary flair. Known for its waffle creations, the menu features red velvet, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and cinnamon roll waffles. It also known for its savory staples such as shrimp and grits, catfish and grits, fried green tomatoes, and New Orleans-style beignets.

“We are so humbled as we announce our expansion into the Sandy Springs area,” said Ferrell. “The Prado Shopping Center is a premiere destination, and we’re excited to bring our soulful flavors to a new community.”

Cookbook and gourmet products

Ferrell, dubbed the “Queen of Waffles,” has built a culinary brand that extends beyond the restaurant. Her cookbook, Kooking with Kelli, showcases family recipes passed down through generations. She’s also appeared on Food Network’s Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge, Guy’s Grocery Games, and OWN’s Food Fantasies.

In addition to the restaurant, Ferrell recently launched a line of gourmet products—including 24K gold-flaked maple syrup, stone-ground Cajun grits, and waffle mix—available nationwide via the Nana’s Chicken & Waffles website.

The Sandy Springs location will operate Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST, and promises more than just its classic menu. Ferrell teased upcoming off-menu specials and secret dishes, including the buzzworthy Honey Lobster Sriracha Waffle, reserved for insiders and adventurous foodies.
