Malik Taylor, a rising social media influencer known for his witty pop culture breakdowns and POV-style comedy, has died.
The Memphis, Tennessee native was 28.

Taylor’s passing was confirmed in a touching Facebook post by Alpha Kappa Psi, his business fraternity at Austin Peay State University, where he graduated in 2020.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share our beloved Brother, Malik Taylor, has gone to ‘Audit Eternal,’” the fraternity wrote. “To know him was to know he was a light to everyone—always bringing laughter, joy and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered.” The tribute continued, “Though your time with us was far too short, you were a good and faithful Brother, and the ‘Great Auditor’ will reward you for your everlasting work.”
Malik Taylor: A Digital Legacy That Resonated
Taylor garnered over 250,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram. He captivated audiences with his sharp takes on trending topics and his signature humor. His YouTube channel, The Unpopular Party, further showcased his talent for dissecting pop culture from Love Island drama to TV show recaps with clarity and charisma.
Just one day before the news of his death surfaced, Taylor posted a video from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he had recently relocated. In the clip, he confidently declared, “Everybody’s always say, ‘Oh, why you moved to Charlotte, North Carolina?’ Because I heard the Queen City need the king. The Queen City need the king!”

The comment section of his final TikTok quickly filled with disbelief and grief. One user wrote, “Opened up the comments for regular comments …. WHAT DO YALL MEANNNN⁉️” Another added, “I was about to laugh at the comments, and now I’m crying? Is he really gone?”
Taylor’s recent birthday celebration on July 2 added a poignant layer to the tragedy. In a Gatsby-themed Instagram post, he wrote, “Survived the 27 club (Barely). Only right I celebrate my 28th like it’s the party of the century. Call me Malik Gatsby Cheers to the rest of my roaring 20s Old Sport”
