DuBois, 60, called his work at CBS “the honor of a lifetime.” He expressed gratitude for colleagues, viewers, and lasting memories.
Maurice DuBois’ CBS Career, Highlights and Legacy
DuBois joined CBS News after years at WCBS-TV in New York City. He became a revered voice for millions of viewers.
He co-anchored CBS Evening News with John Dickerson less than a year ago. His departure marks another shift in the network’s lineup.
“Twenty-one years altogether,” DuBois wrote. “What a privilege to be welcomed into your homes night after night.”
Industry Changes Shape Departure
His exit follows co-anchor John Dickerson’s Oct. 27 Instagram post, where Dickerson said he will leave CBS after 16 years.
Both anchors will conclude their roles by year’s end, marking a significant shift in the network’s lineup.
DuBois’ exit comes during sweeping changes at CBS News. Skydance recently acquired Paramount, CBS’ parent company, in an $8 billion deal.
Path Forward for Maurice DuBois
DuBois said he is “moving on” but remains thankful. He promised to continue anchoring until his final broadcast on Dec. 18.
CBS has not announced who will succeed him. The network continues to adjust its leadership amid industry consolidation and heightened scrutiny.
