On Giving Tuesday, creator Storymodebae gathered her streaming community to support Girls Who Code and the Write What’s Next Challenge. A GoFundMe connected to the campaign has raised nearly $3,000. Participants can contribute by donating, sharing the fundraiser, or creating additional pages to extend its reach.

Barriers in Tech’s Pipeline

Despite progress in STEM education, many girls and nonbinary youth remain underrepresented in technology classrooms and career pathways. Studies continue to show gaps in access to computer science courses, mentorship opportunities, and professional networks. These barriers often prevent young people from entering the spaces where technological decisions are made.

Write What’s Next Challenge: Addressing Inequities

The Write What’s Next Challenge seeks to address those gaps by offering coding workshops, peer support, and project-based learning. Organizers note that technology’s future is not predetermined but shaped through curriculum design, community investment, and deliberate choices. The initiative aims to ensure innovation reflects a broader range of voices and experiences.

Girls Who Code’s Role

Girls Who Code is working with its community to advance the campaign. The organization frames the effort as part of a larger push to expand opportunities in technology. Leaders emphasize that the future of innovation depends on collective action and inclusive participation.

Voices from the Community

Storymodebae underscored the importance of the effort. “Join me in investing in a future where innovation is more inclusive, more just, and more unstoppable,” she said.

The campaign continues to draw support from online communities and grassroots networks. Advocates say the effort highlights both the challenges and the potential solutions for building a more equitable technology pipeline.
