Green, 31, served at Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church and often traveled across for ministry work.
Authorities Investigate Domestic Incident in Level Plains, Al
The Dale County Sheriff’s Office reported someone shot Green on December 23 inside a home in the Freedom Heights neighborhood off Rucker Boulevard. Deputies describe the incident as domestic in nature. First responders took Green to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Church Confirms Alabama Pastor DaQuarius Green’s Death and Shares Public Statement
Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church announced Green’s death in a Facebook post, calling him a “dedicated spiritual leader“. The church asked the community to pray for his family and congregation as they grieve.
“With heavy hearts yet unwavering faith, we share that our beloved Pastor Da’Quarius Green has transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest,” the church wrote.
Members posted additional messages remembering his sermons, mentorship, and community presence.
“We are going to miss him. Loved him very much. Celebrating his homecoming and praying for his family and friends,” one post read.
Shooter Not Identified in Pastor DaQuarius Green’s Shooting Death as Questions Continue
The alleged shooter, reportedly a woman, has not been publicly identified by authorities.
Investigators have not made an arrest or filed charges. The case remains ongoing.
Court Records Outline Prior Domestic Violence Allegations
Court filings show prosecutors charged Green with three misdemeanor domestic violence counts last year, but the court ultimately dismissed them, per WIS 10.
Despite past legal matters, friends say they remember Green as a man committed to his faith, his family, and a life of service.
“He was human,” a fellow pastor and friend told WSFA. “A man of God. A father. A husband. He did not deserve to die.”
