Ladies, you are not alone! The festivities of the holidays can bring on endless dinner parties by friends, family, and even work, and for the ‘figure’ conscious woman this spells disaster! Ladies, you are not alone! The festivities of the holidays can bring on endless dinner parties by friends, family, and even work, and for the ‘figure’ conscious woman this spells disaster! No amount of gym visits can deter the average person from denying themselves of that tempting homemade pie, golden brown turkey, and everyone’s weakness- CHOCOLATES!
Don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world.
For several years my friends and I joke that from November to January we all go one size UP and that’s simply the reality- but it doesn’t mean you have to lose your sexiness ladies. For a svelte and figure flattering look during the holidays and then after, I discovered that the Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) wrap dress is a timeless essential to any woman’s wardrobe and a ‘must-have’ piece. With a myriad of prints, cuts, and designs the choices are endless.
A DVF wrap dress can range from a plunging super sexy front, to demure covered silhouette appropriate for any work related function. Now, for the everyday look whether you want to look great shopping in the mall or strolling down Madison Ave. NY ( and still need a bit of forgiveness from our clothes), anything with a SPANDEX blend is a gift from the fashion gods!
Jessica Simpson has definitely established herself as an affordable yet sexy fashion line, and with her cotton-spandex blend denim jeans she’s helping every lady look chic and comfortable- even with the extra holiday pounds.
Pair up Jessica Simpson’s ankle-zipped cropped denim jeans with your sexiest stiletto pumps and your legs will go on for miles!
So, during the 3 months out of the year where you may not be the perfect size small, take these tips and use them to celebrate your body and enjoy the holidays- and go for anything covered in CHOCOLATE!!!

70’s Leather Trench Jacket: “waiting for the Isaac Hayes theme song!”
After a brief hiatus, I am returning my blog to re-focus on outfit of the day along with my fashion coverage.
After a brief hiatus, I am returning my blog to re-focus on outfit of the day along with my fashion coverage.
Today’s kid’s birthday party outfit was centered around this great vintage leather trench jacket- 70’s inspired oversized collar and wide belt detail, a great consignment store find!
My weekly sunglasses hunt led me to this Marc by Marc Jacobs dark tortoise shell shades (sorry not vintage). Faux Fur stole is by HM Fall 2011 (I also have the one from last year). Cinnamon color v-neck shirt and button down both by Gap, and distressed slim fit jeans by ZARA MAN. The western inspired boots by Aldo and the necklace by HM.

Fashion – MATAANO S/S 2012: Vibrant Tropical
Inspired by their visit to the island of St. Lucia, Mataano’s designers used contemporary comfortable silhouettes with a nod to the 60’s and 70’s.

MATAANO S/S 2012
An explosion of vibrant colors and tropical prints ruled the Spring / Summer 2012 runway. I was particularly taken back, considering I was born in the islands. This collection took me back to a more laid back ‘island’ lifestyle, when people took the time to admire the flora all around and take time out of their day to enjoy the environment and the people- this collection exemplifies such an ease in life. Mataano’s pallette this season simply brings a smile to one’s face.

Korto Momolu S/S 2012: Lure of the Orient!
Project Runway alum Korto Momolu has taken her place in the fashion world with her signature prints and influences from her roots in Liberia
Project Runway alum Korto Momolu has taken her place in the fashion world with her signature prints and influences from her roots in Liberia, mixing with modern silhouettes while keeping true to her strong, sophisticated, and elegant woman.
Korto Momolu collection
Her Spring / Summer 2012 collection explored the artistry of Japanese culture, from ways of the Samurai to the beauty of the Kimono.
Korto’s use of amazing prints on delicate silks juxtapose the structure of the Samurai’s way way life, but definitely reflects the beauty and elegance of the kimono.
One can’t help love the draping on several pieces, with a little punch of color either thru the accessories or a thin belt to give it a bit of spice.
I believe Korto Momolu defines sophisticated, chic, and elegance in the textiles and colors she uses; all the while making every piece comfortable and wearable thru her silhouettes.
Korto Momolu may have not won Project Runway, but her success speaks volumes and is truly inspirational to all aspiring designers to keep fighting and to keep moving forward!!
