Unheard Voices attended the show, the New York City radio station’s long‑running festival that brings out some of the hottest artists in music.

Fabolous Delivers the Night’s Biggest Moment

For me, Fabolous delivered the most memorable set of the night.
As someone who grew up on 90s hip‑hop, I felt the nostalgia instantly.
He performed his hits and then raised the energy when he brought out:

  • Black Rob
  • Mobb Deep
  • Redman and Method Man
  • Raekwon
  • Busta Rhymes
  • Remy Ma
  •  Lil Kim
  • Fat Joe
  • Ma$e

The set honored the era that shaped modern hip‑hop.

Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, and Meek Mill Close the Show

Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar followed with strong performances. Kendrick kept his set simple but powerful, delivering pure hip‑hop.

Meek Mill headlined the night and ran through a long list of hits. He also brought out Future and Nicki Minaj for a major finale.

A Strong Event Despite Outside Issues

A melee happened outside the venue, but I made it inside before it unfolded.
Hot97 still delivered a successful event in its 21st year.

This year’s Summer Jam was powered by Pepsi, CÎROC, McDonald’s, Nutrament, MetroPlus Health Plan, HER Imports, NJ Lottery Cash 4 Life, M360 Network, and Myx Moscato.
