Unheard Voices Magazine Receives Media Innovator Award For Social Justice

Unheard Voices, a socially conscious online news magazine, has been honored with Corporate Vision Magazine’s Media Innovators Award.

Corporate Vision is a monthly digital magazine whose mission is to deliver insightful features from across the global corporate world.

“Launched with an eye towards bettering business practices across the board. We focus on spotlighting advances in the HR, marketing, coaching, and recruitment spheres,” the site reads.

The outlet was awarded 2020’s Best Social Justice Communications company for its journalism and advocacy on social issues.

Unheard Voices was founded by Mr. Covin in 2004 when he needed his voice heard on an issue that concerned him.

Mr. Covin started Unheard Voices as a newsletter in the Neptune Township and Asbury Park, N.J. communities and transitioned online in 2007.

Today, the family initiative is an internationally recognized media outlet dedicated to getting everyday voices heard on issues that matter.

Unheard Voices, an award-winning, family-operated online news magazine, began in 2004 as a community newsletter serving Neptune, Asbury Park, and Long Branch, N.J. Over time, it grew into a nationally recognized Black-owned media outlet. The publication remains one of the few dedicated to covering social justice issues. Its honors include the NAACP Unsung Hero Award and multiple media innovator awards for excellence in social justice reporting and communications.
