Remembering Florida mother Lisa “Shalisa” Johnson

Her family described her as a devoted mother whose sudden passing has left them devastated. Johnson has two sons and 11-year-old daughter who now face life without her guidance. In a GoFundMe post, one child wrote, “We are now faced with the unimaginable task of planning her funeral and laying her to rest with the dignity and love she deserves.”

Because Johnson lacked insurance, relatives said funeral costs are overwhelming. They are asking the community for help to honor her memory.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said the incident began around 12:30 a.m. when officers spotted two cars racing near Hanna Avenue and Nebraska Avenue.

The chase continued onto I-275 Southbound before troopers attempted a PIT maneuver near Palm Avenue. The vehicle sped down 7th Avenue, lost control, and slammed into Bradley’s On 7th patio. The driver struck more than a dozen people.

Three victims died at the scene. Johnson and another victim later died at hospitals.

Charges Filed Against Driver
