Rodolfo Godinez, the first defendant to stand trial in the Newark schoolyard slayings, was sentenced today for a total of 245 years.

The murders of Dashon Harvey, Terrance Aeriel and Iofemi Hightower and the shooting and stabbing of a fourth victim shocked New Jersey’s largest city.
All four victims were enrolled or about to be enrolled at Delaware State University
Five other defendants are awaiting trial.
