Were you watching when The TLC movie, CrazySexyCool, hit televisions across the nation on VH1?

A long anticipated portrayal of one of the best female groups of all times finally came to life and viewers were left in amazement. Casting for the TLC movie CrazySexyCool was on point!

Respectively by the talents of: Drew Sidora (The Game, That’s So Raven, Girlfriends), Niatia Jessica Kirkland “Lil’ Mama, and Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, Madea’s Family Reunion, Joyful Noise); T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chili were brought to the screen like they never left. Let’s give credit where credit is due to the Executive Producers and Consultants of the film: T-Boz and Chili along with the spiritual oversight of Left Eye.

While watching the film, it was utterly yet eerily amazing to be able to see the showstopper of the film, Lil Mama portray Left Eye. She had social media buzzing and guess what…she didn’t have to jump on stage at the VMA’s. Lil’ Mama did what any actress/actor does and that was go straight into character.

Many if not most times, I caught myself staring at Lil’ Mama as if she was Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes herself…UNBELIEVABLE! While Drew (who is a spokesperson for the Sickle Cell Association of Illinois) portrayed T-Boz who has Sickle Cell and Keke starred as Chili; discussing Lil’ Mama’s contribution is meant in no way to take shine from these two phenomenal actresses as well.

Let’s just say that myself as the well as the rest of the world knows we all hoped for Lil’ Mama to not make a fool of herself. I believe it’s safe to say Lil’ Mama deserves an award for her performance…can I get an Amen! It takes a lot to fill big shoes and Drew, Keke, and Niatia (it’s only right to refer to Lil’ Mama as such; it is her given name and she has officially started the creation of her brand beyond Lil’ Mama-the rapper) have successfully filled them.

With T-Boz and Chili pulling out original wardrobes from the years of TLC; the recreated look and appeal of the dynamic group was flawless.

Beyond wardrobe; hair and makeup was a essential part for the total recreation and it was slayed! Wardrobe, hair, and makeup – all played a key part for the entire cast; did you happen to notice L.A. Reid ( yes! that was Carl Anthony Payne!!- Cole from Martin) and how about the best manager in the world!!!!(side eye..lol) Perri “Pebbles” Reid. Pebbles was played by, Rochelle Aytes.

You may remember seeing her as, Denise Porter, in White Chicks or as, Lisa Breaux, in Madea’s Family Reunion.

How about Dallas Austin played by Evan Ross? Remember Ant from , ATL, he’s also the son of the legendary, Diana Ross.

With many familiar faces throughout the TLC movie, CrazySexyCool, gave an opportunity for all to shine. So what’s next for VH1?

Will they do more depictions of great artists current and past? Will we see Aaliyah brought to the screen? It has been rumored that BET 106 and Park’s own, Kesha Chante, was expected to play “baby girl”.

It has also been stated that she was chosen over, Meagan Good. Only time will tell; I wonder if Kesha is cast where will it air? It may be time for films like these to be sent over to Sean “Diddy” Comb’s newly launched network RevoltTV. It’s never too early for greatness.
