Ferguson police officer suspended

There were many reports of violent interactions between the police and protestors. Last night, a police officer that threatened to kill unarmed protesters in Ferguson has been removed from duty and suspended indefinitely after ACLU of Missouri sent a letter to Colonel Ronald Replogle, who serves as superintendent for Missouri’s State Highway Patrol.

The officer was caught on livestream yelling “I will f–king kill you” to protesters in Ferguson, before being escorted off by another officer. When asked to identify himself, the officer refused and said “go f–k yourself,” instead.

ACLU of Missouri’s letter stated:

[T]his officer’s conduct—from pointing a weapon, to threatening to kill, to responding with profanity to a request for identity—was from start to finish wholly unacceptable. Such behavior serves to heighten, not reduce, tension.
