Beyond the Dream will kick off the weekend with a VIP Reception on Friday, March 20,  at THEARC, located in the Historic Anacostia area of Washington, DC. Jasmine Guy will serve as the special guest and Violinist Kendall Isadore will be providing LIVE music. The signature program Curtains & Conversations with Jasmine Guy will take place the following morning were participants will hear about Jasmine’s journey to living beyond the dream, her tips to staying involved and engaged, and sharing some things she’s learned over the years. The conversation will be moderated by Thembi Duncan. For the younger voices, “Act 1: Young Stars Panel” featuring Eden Duncan-Smith will allow participants to hear about the entertainment industry from a young lady’s point of view. Eden will share information on the industry and how she has been able to attend school, work professionally, and maintain a “normal” teen life.

When asked about the excitement celebrating Women’s History Month, IKAM Productions’ Executive Producer Carletta S. Hurt states

Beyond the Dream is about how we as women have to start moving toward making the dream a reality. Ms. Guy has graciously agreed to share her story with us and how she has been living her dream. Eden is an upcoming teen star that everyone should be watching. Her personality and versatility make her a dream as talent. Her experience ranges from singing on stage to acting alongside Oscar nominated actors.  Jasmine and Eden are just two of the amazing opportunities that Beyond the Dream provides for the DMV. We are excited they will be sharing their journey of living beyond the dream!
