Brady versus Manning…. Brady-Manning XVII. This is not the Super Bowl! This is championship week and last time I checked, only one of those two quarterbacks will be in this year’s big game. However, it seems as though the world of football failed to realize that the top two voted Pro Bowl Quarterbacks, one who led their team to the best overall record and the other who has the top quarterback rating overall, are not named Brady or Manning, but instead are named Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) and Carson Palmer (Arizona Cardinals). I would have to say that the NFC is the real Super Bowl and not what the AFC Championship game and everything that it entails is being made out to be.

Possibly being Peyton Manning’s final time lining up behind center and the last time that Tom Brady and Manning will step on the field to face each other and no one will diminish the meaning of what this means to the game, which is the reason it is being highly talked about as much as it is. However, the game that everyone should be focused on and really talking about is the game between the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals because the winner of this match up, in my opinion, will be your Super Bowl 50 Champions.

Now, you have to appreciate the seasons that the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals have had. On one hand, the Panthers have been dabbing their way through the regular season by scoring points, shutting down opposing offences and passing out souvenir footballs along the way all while being led by Cam Newton, who has probably had the best year of his career and does not seem to be showing any signs of being satisfied with just getting this far. While on the other hand, the Cardinals, being led by Carson Palmer and a group of veterans, have done the same as what the Panthers have seemed to accomplish by scoring points and shutting down opposing offences but with more of a conservative approach.

Not to take anything away from Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, let’s give credit where credit is due, just like all of the fans have done, and take into consideration that the game that has the most significance is the game that decides the fate of Cam Newton and Carson Palmer. Who will be the quarterback to lead their team to this year’s Super Bowl 50? The quarterback whose alter ego is that of a superhero, Superman, who has been passing out footballs to fans in the stands after every scoring touchdown while dancing and having fun in Dabbling fashion, which has transcended throughout the entire team of the Carolina Panthers. Or will it be the quarterback with the league’s best passer rating, who has seemed to resurrect his career and having, arguably, the best season of his career all while doing so completely opposite of his opposition, conservatively?

Besides Super Bowl 50 at stake and, in my opinion, the Super Bowl 50 Champion, this NFC Championship game will also be showcasing who I believe will be the NFL Most Valuable Player, Cam Newton or Carson Palmer. What more could you ask for or want in a Championship game, besides wishing it was on the bigger stage and actually be Super Bowl 50. Get ready for Pre-Super Bowl fireworks by these two explosive, innovative offences or a fight amongst two of the top defences!
