Media mogul Wendy Williams to celebrate father’s birthday
Williams was captured smiling, cruising through Miami International Airport on Saturday afternoon on a scooter wearing fuzzy black boots and a matching black coat in a video shared by TMZ.
She was seen heading towards a black SUV. Although she didn’t engage with the press, Williams seemed to be in good spirits. Before jumping into the car, she was seen taking a phone call.
Wendy Williams guardianship battle
Williams is currently in Miami to celebrate her father’s 94th birthday, making it the first time she’s been able to socialize in months. A judge approved her trip amid her guardianship fight.
On the “2 Angry Men” podcast, the 60-year-old revealed plans to see her son Kevin at the gathering. Even though she feels he mismanaged her money and partly triggered her guardianship, she said their reunion wouldn’t be awkward.
Wendy has filed to end the legal guardianship, which she says has made her feel like a prisoner.
GoFundMe
A family friend started a GoFundMe to raise $50,000 to support Williams in her journey to be freed from the guardianship.
“For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently,” the description reads.
