Aftershock: The Nicole P Bell Story, a powerful dramatization of the events surrounding the 2006 police shooting of Sean Bell, will debut in U.S. theaters on Nov. 28, according to Deadline. Manny Halley Productions will release the film through Faith Media Distribution, per the outlet.

The film is slated to open on more than 500 screens nationwide, a strong showing for the competitive Thanksgiving weekend. A digital release will follow on Dec. 15.

The film revisits the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Sean Bell, who was killed by undercover NYPD officers just hours before his wedding. Officers fired 50 rounds, sparking national outrage and renewed calls for police reform. Bell was unarmed.

Told through the eyes of his fiancée, Nicole Paultre Bell, Aftershock explores her pursuit of justice, healing, and truth in the aftermath of unimaginable loss. The narrative centers her voice, offering a deeply personal lens on systemic injustice.

Cast and Creative Team

Rayven Ferrell stars as Nicole Paultre Bell, with Bentley Green portraying Sean Bell. The ensemble cast includes Richard Lawson as Rev. Al Sharpton, Kevin Jackson as Mr. Bell, Iyana Halley as Tila, and Richard T. Jones as Attorney Anthony Ricco.

Manny Halley and Roc Nation serve as executive producers. Nicole Paultre Bell also produced the film, alongside Halley, Rodney Turner II, and Yolanda Halley.

A Timely Release with National Reach

Theatrical distribution across 500-plus screens signals strong confidence in the film’s impact and relevance. Its release during Thanksgiving weekend positions it for wide visibility and community discussion.
