Suicide is serious & no laughing matter

“Suicide is a major, preventable public health problem. In 2007, it was the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S., accounting for 34,598 deaths. The overall rate was 11.3 suicide deaths per 100,000 people. An estimated 11 attempted suicides occur per every suicide death.”
You never know what someone is going through. If you suspect that you or anyone you know may be at risk for suicide, it is imperative you know they are other options and help is available. Here are some signs:
- + Talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself.
+ Looking for a way to kill oneself, such as searching online or buying a gun.
+ Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live.
+ Talking about feeling trapped or in unbearable pain.
+ Talking about being a burden to others.
+ Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs.
+ Acting anxious or agitated; behaving recklessly.
+ Sleeping too little or too much.
+ Withdrawing or feeling isolated.
+ Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge.
+ Displaying extreme mood swings.
