Details: Hot 97 Who’s Next Live
On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, enjoy a night out and check out the latest in Hip Hop with performances by Kirk Knight, Krept & Konan, and Chelsea Reject.
Pro Era’s Kirk Knight
Taking the Who’s Next stage is Pro Era’s Kirk Knight, who is gearing up to release his debut album, Late Knight Special. As Joey Bada$$ told Hip Hop DX earlier this year: “We’re really shifting into Kirk [Knight] season so that’s where the light is going to be at and everything” (Hip Hop DX, May 2015). The year started off big for Knight, with a tour across the nation with Mick Jenkins, Saba and Noname. Also the release of the hard-hitting Brooklyn anthem “Brokeland”. And with the highly anticipated release of his new album, 2015 has proved to be the Year of Knight!
Krept & Konan
Joining Knight is Hip Hop duo, Krept & Konan, hailing all the way from London, England. While celebrating the release of their debut album, The Long Way Home, this past summer, Krept & Konan stopped by HOT 97 to discuss the differences between grime & Hip Hop and their hit song “Freak of the Week”.
Chelsea Reject
Also hitting the stage is a young, female MC who states she’s “not one to be afraid of being weird”. Representing Brooklyn and the ladies, Chelsea Reject is turning Hip Hop upside down. As she told AXS, her latest project, CMPLX “is all about self-discovery and experimentation…(giving)”.
Location
Who’s Next Live takes place at SOB’s located at 204 Varick St. New York, NY. Doors open at 8 p.m. (21 and over, identification will be asked upon entering the venue).
