Homicide detectives join search for missing Philadelphia woman Kada Scott; family launches GoFundMe reward fund
Scott vanished on Oct. 4 after arriving for her overnight shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, a senior care facility in Northwest Philadelphia.
PHILADELPHIA — The search for 23-year-old Kada Scott intensified this week as homicide detectives joined the investigation into her disappearance.
Search intensified for missing Philadelphia woman
Scott vanished on Saturday, Oct. 4 after arriving for her overnight shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, a senior care facility in Northwest Philadelphia, according to police.
Although her car was found parked outside the building, Scott left before completing her shift. No surveillance footage exists, and her phone and social media accounts have remained silent ever since.
Harassment claims investigated
Before she went missing, Scott reportedly told loved ones she was being harassed by unknown individuals. Investigators are now examining those claims, hoping they may lead to answers.
Homicide detectives now involved in Kada Scott missing case
Because of the troubling circumstances, Philadelphia police have escalated the case. Homicide detectives and the FBI are now involved, although officials have not confirmed foul play. Search teams have deployed helicopters, cadets, and K-9 units across the city, including wooded areas near East Germantown.
Kada Scott’s family starts GoFundMe
Meanwhile, Scott’s family continues to distribute flyers and plead for public assistance. Her father, Kevin Scott, described the ordeal as overwhelming. “She’s my oldest daughter. I love her,” he said.
To support the search, the Scott family launched a verified GoFundMe campaign. The fund offers a reward for credible information that leads directly to Kada’s safe recovery. According to the campaign page, all donations will be used in coordination with law enforcement and trusted community advocates.
“If Kada is found before the funds are distributed, or if law enforcement determines the reward is no longer necessary, any remaining balance will be donated to a verified missing-persons organization,” Kevin Scott wrote on the page.
Kada Scott’s description
Police describe Scott as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She graduated from Penn State and had recently expressed interest in launching a healthcare business.
