Before joining the Highway Patrol, Perry played football at North Carolina Central University and Winston‑Salem State University. He lettered as an offensive lineman at NCCU and contributed to the 2016 MEAC championship team.

He was also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where brothers remembered him as disciplined, steady, and service‑driven.

Loved ones remember Perry as a devoted father, a steady partner, and a trooper whose humor and presence lifted every room.

He leaves behind his partner, Hunter, and their infant daughter, Sasha Joy.

GoFundMe Raises Support for His Family

At the time of this report, a verified GoFundMe has raised more than $37,000 to support Perry’s daughter and help his partner manage daily expenses.

Organizers said the funds will provide stability as the family adjusts to life without him.

Procession and Honors

Law enforcement agencies escorted Perry’s body from Raleigh to Durham earlier this week.

Additionally, Bridges along the route displayed American flags as officers saluted the fallen trooper.

Funeral plans were announced for March 11 at The Shepherd’s Church in Cary.
